The Delhi Commonwealth Games officially opened this morning with a grand Opening Ceremony. Now the action is about to begin.

What Kiwis are in action on Day One?

Schedule for New Zealand athletes in competition at the Commonwealth Games on Monday, October 4.

New Zealand’s first medals could come from the pool with the swimming finals tonight from 11.25pm. One of the medal chances could come from Moss Burmester who will be defending his Commonwealth Games title if he qualifies for the final.

Swimming - 3.55pm
Heats – Men's 50m backstroke, Daniel Bell, Gareth Kean.
Women's 200m freestyle, Lauren Boyle.
Women's 50m butterfly, Hayley Palmer.
Men's 200m butterfly, Moss Burmester.
Women's 200m freestyle, Penelope Marshall, Natasha Hind.
Women's 200m individual medley, Natalie Wiegersma.

Badminton - 4.25pm
Mixed teams pool games - Danielle Barry, Michelle Chan, Donna Halliday, Anna Rankin, James Eunson, Oliver Leydon-Davis, Henry Tam, Joe Wu

Table tennis - 5pm
11.30pm Women's teams event qualification matches - Jenny Hung, Karen Li, Yang Sun, Annie Yang.
