It has come to our
attention that some confusion has been created regarding the
two press releases issued by NZ Equity today.
For the purposes of clarification the discussions between SPADA and NZ Equity have no application to the production of The Hobbit and the contracting of performers on The Hobbit is in no way contingent on the outcome of those discussions.
The decision of the Board of NZ Equity in relation to its recommendation to its foreign counterpart performer unions regarding The Hobbit stands unconditionally.
