Snapper welcomed as Outgames sponsor

The payment card company Snapper has been welcomed as a platinum sponsor for the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames, to be held in Wellington in March 2011.

“We are excited by the opportunities for using Snapper services across a wide range of activities at the Outgames,” says Outgames Co-chair David Hindley.

Snapper’s contactless payment cards will be used as a personalised ID for Outgames participants and supporters, as the key means of payment for transport to sports venues, and for payment to a number of events and activities. New applications are being explored for possible use at Outgames events.

“Being able to give each participant a personalised Snapper card will help to streamline and simplify our accreditation, and will allow us to integrate much of our event management,” says David Hindley. “There will also be a huge convenience factor for the large number of participants coming from outside Wellington.”

Existing Snapper cardholders will be able to use their cards to pay for entry to public Outgames events such as a choral concert in the Wellington Town Hall, and a dance sport competition.

This is another great chance to showcase how Snapper is simply the most convenient and fastest way to pay for public transport, taxis and retail. Together with the Outgames ID card, Snapper will form a great experience for participants next March.”

2,000 participants from 15 countries will take part in competitions in 18 sports, a human rights conference, a major arts and culture festival, and social events and parties. The 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames takes place in Wellington, New Zealand, 12–19 March 2011.
