Rangiora driver Hamish Cross has had a great start to his Rotax Max Grand Finals campaign in Italy, setting the second quickest lap time in qualifying in the DD2 Max Masters class.
Next best was Palmerston North's Josh Hart with fourth quickest time in the Max Senior class, followed by Christchurch's Matthew Hamilton (seventh in DD2), Niki Urwin (17th in DD2 Max Masters) then Cambridge's Andy Schofield (49th in Max Junior).
Fastest qualifiers going into today's heats were Edward Brand from Great Britain (Max Senior), Daniel Morad from Canada (DD2), Estonia's Martin Rump (Max Junior) and Scott Campbell from Canada (DD2 Max Masters).
