A Decade of Dazzling “Operatunity’s”

Operatunity’s 2011 season starts!

Over the past ten years award-winning Operatunity has brought joy, laughter, and precious memories to audiences around the country.

With over 200 concerts lined-up for 2011, the touring group has worked tirelessly to ensure their birthday year will be full of moving music, friendly fun, and loads of laughter.

To begin the season Operatunity presents The Best of Modern Musicals featuring timeless popular music from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, Westside Story, Miss Saigon and so many more.

An Auckland cast comprises of two sensational young artists, Tasmyn Miller and Alexandra Ioan, alongside Greg Ward, John Cameron, and pianist John Mackay. For North and South Island venues, Operatunity favourites return to the stage including Debbie Penney, Lynette Martin, Stuart Coats and Geoffrey Hughes, accompanied by Alex Wiltshire.

Frequent concert goer Elizabeth Beall says Operatunity concerts mean a lot to her.

“I love the friendliness of everyone, the songs, and being able to join in, being part of a group and having fun,” says Beall.

“All the performers are so good, and we get to meet them after. I only wish mum was here to take her to this.”

Operatunity will visit 25 towns from Whangarei to Invercargill, presenting a total of eight uniquely-themed concerts throughout the year.

Tickets to all 2011 concerts are just $28 including lunch, with further discounts available for groups or concession bookings. Annual passes are also available for $178, giving access to all eight concerts in the 2011 season at a special discounted rate.
