Bring them along to the Sarau Festival by 5pm – no entry fee. There will be a board displaying the entries, and assuming there are plenty of entries Jill will take these away with her and judge them over the next two weeks. Winners will be announced in the March Grapevine and prizes will be able to be collected from the Upper Moutere Village.

The Gentle Cycling Company’s ride through the Moutere.

Everyone wants to have a go at exploring the Moutere by bike, but not everyone feels up to doing the Mountain bike club’s 26km cross country ride through some reasonably rugged farmland… soooo…. The Gentle Cycling Company together with a fun riding group called “Frocks on bikes” have decided to mount a shorter ride over the flatter sections of the Moutere route.

The route is a loop, with a 7 or 11km option, & finishes at the festival site. Cyclists will travel along quiet sealed roads, farm tracks & mown paddocks, passing through vineyards, raspberry & blackcurrant fields, hop gardens & open fields. There are some rolling hills on the road section at the beginning & the remainder is flat.

Children are welcome as long as they are reasonably experienced riders. This is not recommended for children under the age of 8, and of course they must be accompanied by an adult.
