On Court: Your Netball Point of Contact

On Court welcomes its first player in-Studio for the 2011 season this Wednesday night, with Southern Steel co-captain Wendy Frew confirmed as the show’s special guest.

Frew’s up from the deep South to join the show’s hosts, former Silver Fern AND Frew’s Steel team mate (for round one, anyway!) Tania Dalton and former Australian captain Kathryn Harby-Williams.

Each week On Court will welcome in a current ANZ Championship player, to give an insight into how life is for a semi-professional netballer. Frew will also give her advice to young (or young at heart) mid-courters with an on-set coaching tip for budding netballers.

The On Court field-crew will also be with Frew on her game day for round one - the Steel’s opening match against the Northern Mystics – so that netball fans get a rare, first-hand view of what it’s like on the inside of the world’s most prestigious netball competition.

Former Silver Ferns captain Bernice Mene will round up the first round of the ANZ Championship in the show’s regular segment “Weekend at Bernie’s”. We’re literally at Mene’s house as she dissects the weekend’s action and looks ahead to the first full weekend of ANZ in round two.

You’ll also learn more than you expected to as Northern Mystics super-shooter Cathrine Latu lines up in On Court’s weekly Off the Wall!
