Christchurch visitors offered special deal on Kids Of 88
Cantabrians who’ve flooded into Nelson, Ashburton and Blenheim are being offered a special deal on tickets to the Kids of 88 concerts being staged in these centres next week by the Top of the South Arts Touring Consortium.
Janice Marthen, consortium spokeswoman and manager of Nelson’s Theatre Royal says the ticket price has been reduced to $20 for all Christchurch visitors and to $15 for any students who’ve given their time in the Student Volunteer Army. The full price is $37.
“We’ve all seen the devastation on TV, but we can’t really imagine what it is like to have been there,” she said. “This is an opportunity we can give to Christchurch people to lose themselves for a few hours and have some fun to some great music.”
The Kids of 88 are an electro/new wave/pop duo based in Auckland who last year signed a worldwide record deal to Sony Music, and whose album Sugarpills has spawned two hit singles, ‘Downtown’ and ‘Just A Little Bit’, which won Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year at the 2010 New Zealand Music Awards.
Christchurch people can get the reduced price at the ticketing outlets listed below, or at the door, with their identification based on good faith.
The Kids of 88 are touring under the Top of the South Arts Consortium programme and are supported by Nelson band Recommended by Your Mom.
