Kordia Supports Charity Cricket Match

Kordia Supports Charity Cricket Match

The star-studded, charity cricket match planned to raise money for earthquake victims will be broadcast live from Wellington this Sunday across the CTV channel in Christchurch with a little help from Kordia and its long-time customer the New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB).

The match will be produced on-site at the Basin Reserve by the NZRB team, and will be broadcast live over the Trackside channel on SKY. But in a clever move, Kordia will pick up the feed from SKY at the same time, and use its in-house linking services to transmit the signal down to its Sugarloaf site in Christchurch so that the cricket match can be broadcast free-to-air for the people of Canterbury.

"We're delighted to be able to help in this way, and just hope that enough cricket fans in Christchurch can take some time out to watch what promises to be a very entertaining and hopefully lucrative Twenty20 match," says Kordia CEO Geoff Hunt.

Coverage will run from 3.30pm - 7.30pm this Sunday. 10,000 tickets have been sold, and sporting celebrities including Martin Crowe, Stephen Fleming and Shane Warne will face off against big-hitters including Russell Crowe, Richie McCaw and the Prime Minister John Key.
