'New Zealand (My Home Town)' - Fundraiser For Christchurch
'NEW ZEALAND (MY HOME TOWN)'
A song for the people of Christchurch
(Written by Christchurch born singer/songwriter Lynda Wehipeihana)
Lynda’s family live in Christchurch and her mother was shopping at a mall in the city when the quake hit. Lynda’s mum was reported missing for a large part of the day until she was found in hospital where she spent 2 weeks.
Lynda expressed "I was beside myself, not coping with the destruction of my home town. I wasn’t able to contact people and I was very distressed".
"I wanted to do something to help and make a contribution to the people of Christchurch, I felt so helpless and useless. So I wrote ‘My Home Town’ as my contribution to raise money for the cause."
‘New Zealand (My Home Town)’ will soon be available for purchase with proceeds to go towards the Christchurch Earthquake relief fund.
