Where do stories come from and how do we know when we've got one? As a writer it can be an arduous and sometimes thrilling process of discovery carving a story from an idea.
Writer/director Gregory King (A Song of Good, Christmas) and playwright and screenwriter Thomas Sainsbury (Super City, Talk) join MC Phillipa Campbell (producer Rain, Rubbings from a Live Man) to talk about where their ideas come from, and how story emerges from those ideas. Gregory is based in Berlin and has twice been selected for the prestigious Binger Institute Film Lab, and Thomas has worked in London. How have these experiences influenced their approach to story?
Gregory King’s work has consistently received national and international acclaim. His first feature, award-winning Christmas, 2003, was made on a mere $30,000 and was accepted into Toronto, Locarno, Edinburgh and Melbourne International Film Festivals. His more recent project, low-budget digital feature A Song of Good sold out at its world premier at the 2008 Rotterdam International Film Festival. Full Bio
