Are You Coming Out West to Titirangi this Weekend ?

This weekend:
• West Artists’ Open Studio Weekend – now in its 7th year and happening on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th between 10-4pm. It’s a weekend with something for every taste. Artists have been busy painting, hanging and setting up their studios for visitors to view their work, see art in action, take part in the many free workshops and purchase artwork direct from the artist.

Contributing artists are working in a variety of mediums including painting, cartooning, sculpture, pottery, glass, mosaic, fabric, jewellery and found items. The weekend is Free – just look out for the green ‘Art Here’ signs – you can pick up a Studio Guide/Map from local galleries and find your own way around, or take a bus tour from Corban Estate. http://www.ceac.org.nz/public_programmes/open_studio_weekend_@_ceac.aspx.

• TWO – A Titirangi Community Arts Council (TCAC) Members exhibition here in the Upstairs Gallery. This is a MUST SEE, especially if you are taking in the Open Studio Weekend. • The Artpost Studio’s 1st Birthday ! – A great little gallery (even smaller than this one!) - also open during the Open Studio Weekend. They have extra reason to celebrate, so be sure to head down Huia Road to Parau and enjoy the art of these 7 wonderful artists and wish them a very happy birthday. http://auckland-west.co.nz/?p=2149

• 2011 Emerging Artist Awards – In our 4th year! This exciting event is set for 7-31 July. We’re calling for entries NOW, and submissions close on 17th June – so get started!
