Best Selling Book Goes App For Charity
(App Store search word: NZ Adventure)
"This book, with its simple but colourful illustrations, is definitely a book to be shared.to be talked through as well as read"
Margaret Mahy (Author "Lion in the Meadow"); winner of the Carnegie Medal and Hans Christian Andersen Award (and Cantabrian)
The accredited "Premier Best Seller" book ( print title: "Nana and Grandad's New Zealand Adventure") originally achieved its best selling status through a following of Australian, US and UK holidaymakers, who have visited New Zealand and took the book home to share their experiences with their grandchildren. This award winning book has now been made available on the App Store, with all proceeds going back to the earthquake devastated city of Christchurch, New Zealand.
After all, Christchurch was their company's top selling city for the "Premier NZ Bestselling" book. Indeed the Christchurch Cathedral was their no.1 selling store in all of New Zealand. Kangoo asked of themselves "How could we give back to a city which has already given us so much?" A Facebook suggestion sparked the idea and now "NZ Adventure" is available for download worldwide on the App Store for the iPhone & iPad.
"This is a "Charity App" with 100% of the income generated through the App Store being donated to help people rebuild their lives", says Shona Grundy, author of the no. 1 selling book. "We wanted to create an easy channel, for people all over the world, to donate to such a worthy cause. In return they not only learn something about New Zealand, but are entertained while engaging with the New Zealand culture".
2 days in to the release and so far sales have been recorded in New Zealand, UK, USA, Brazil, South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Spain and Australia.
