Strong demand for Rugby World Cup 2011 hospitality package

Strong demand for new Rugby World Cup 2011 hospitality packages

Rugby fans have been quick to snap up a new range of Rugby World Cup 2011 Official Hospitality packages offering an informal dining experience.

Over 2,000 new lower-priced packages have been purchased since they were released on 28 February.

The new hospitality packages include a stand-up meal and complimentary drinks, as well as much-sought after RWC 2011 match tickets.

David White, spokesperson for the RWC 2011 Official Hospitality and Travel Programme, says the new packages were developed after demand from local Rugby fans and small businesses for a less formal alternative to the fine dining packages currently on offer.

“New Zealanders love Rugby and many Kiwis have a strong desire to be part of the action for RWC 2011. These new packages provide Rugby fans and small companies with the perfect opportunity to guarantee their place at the sporting event of 2011, particularly if they were unlucky enough to miss out on semi-finals and Final tickets through the ballot.”

The limited new hospitality packages start at $395 plus GST, with packages available for most group pool matches around the country. Finals packages start at $2,695 plus GST for both semi-finals.

Both onsite and offsite hospitality options are available.

The new Club 2011 package offers fans the opportunity to savour the pre-match atmosphere at the Stadium and enjoy plenty of appetising food and complimentary beers and wines before witnessing world-class Rugby action. After the match, fans can catch up on all the highlights with their colleagues and friends over another serving of Kiwi hospitality.

The new Sports 2011 package is pre-match only and limited to the Finals matches at Eden Park, with guests set to enjoy a hearty serving of food and complimentary beers and wines at a hospitality venue in the city centre a couple of hours before the match so they have ample time to make their way to ground in time for kick-off.

The two new packages complement the existing range of RWC 2011 Official Hospitality packages on sale, including Eden Park Pavilion - a high-class hospitality facility which will be serving up a superb four-course fine dining experience along with the very best seats available.

Mr White urges those thinking about purchasing hospitality for RWC 2011 to get in quick.

“We have seen a sharp increase in sales across all hospitality packages in the past few weeks. With less than six months to go until the Tournament kicks off, there is a greater sense of urgency amongst companies to secure their seats.

“NZ companies are seeing this as the one opportunity to enjoy hospitality at RWC while it’s in their own backyard. They also don’t want to risk their clients enjoying an event of this magnitude with a competitor,” he says.

All RWC 2011 Hospitality packages must be purchased through an Official Hospitality Agent or directly from RTH. For more information, please visit www.rth2011.com
