Game Animal Council a Winner

Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 6, 2011

Game Animal Council a Winner

Safari Club International New Zealand Chapter President, Terry Pierson, extends his congratulations to both the Minister of Conservation, Hon Kate Wilkinson, and Hon Peter Dunne for their forward thinking and pro-active attitudes towards the establishment of the Game Animal Council.

As a Chapter of the world’s foremost and largest hunting and conservation organisation this introduction is without a doubt the most important step forward by any New Zealand Government since wild animals were released in this country nearly 150 years ago and both this Chapter and the World body fully supports the introduction of the concepts of the Game Animal Council which will be an effective and efficient organisation that will manage hunting and game animals for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

The establishment of the Game Animal Council allows for the introduction of actual game management rather than mere “control” of animal numbers. From its inception, SCI has strived to have our valued game animals wisely management for both hunting and conservation benefits. The Game Animal Council is the organisation to do this.

Ends.
