New Zealand audiences have demonstrated their love for cult director Zack Snyder, with his film Sucker Punch claiming the #1 spot at the New Zealand Box Office on opening weekend (8-10th April) taking in an impressive $350, 600 (estimated).
Roadshow Film Distributor's Marketing Manager Hayley Botes said “We are excited about this movie, and to be number 1 on opening weekend. We look forward to the films continued success throughout its theatrical season.”
Sucker Punch was created by renowned directors Zack Snyder, whose repertoire of visual masterpieces include 300, Watchmen and Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.
The film stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens Jena Malone, and Jamie Chung.
Sucker Punch takes you into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream-world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what is real and what is imaginary.
Sucker Punch is rated M, and is now showing in most cinemas across New Zealand.
