Last days of City Gallery’s current exhibitions

Like Tea Through a Teapot, Time is Running Out

Last days of City Gallery’s current exhibitions

Don’t miss City Gallery Wellington’s current exhibitions, which close on April 25. The Gallery is open every day 10am–5pm, including the Easter and ANZAC Day holidays, which are the perfect opportunities to catch one of the Gallery’s shows.

Crown Lynn: Crockery of Distinction is a fascinating insight into the history of this iconic New Zealand ceramic brand. This exhibition focuses on the collections of a number of Crown Lynn’s most interesting and dedicated collectors, which showcase the work of Crown Lynn designers such as Dorothy Thorpe, Ernest Shufflebotham and Mirek Smisek. Crockery of Distinction also includes familiar pieces such as colourful teacups and swan vases.

Also showing is Neil Pardington’s intriguing and emotionally moving photographic exhibition The Vault: Neil Pardington which reveals the hidden spaces of New Zealand’s museums and art galleries. This show is a must see for collectors and all men and women with sheds.

And last but not least, The Imaginative Life and Times of Graham Percy brings the work of expatriate kiwi illustrator Graham Percy to a New Zealand audience for the first time. This charming exhibition reveals the child-like and inventive art of this talented illustrator, designer, typographer and animator.

Admission charges of $6 and $4 concession apply to Crown Lynn: Crockery of Distinction, which has a free day every Wednesday. The Vault and Graham Percy are both free of charge.
