Early Bird Gets The Worm features artworks by all twelve {Suite} Gallery artists as well as Bob Kerr, Carlo Van de Roer and other works from our stockroom. This will be our forty-second and last exhibition at 69 Owen Street, Newtown. Gallery hours during the show will be Thursday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm. From 23-29 May Whitespace will use the space to present an exhibition of works by Nigel Brown.

Our gallery at 108 Oriental Parade will be open Thursday-Saturday during the Douglas Stichbury Magnificent Civilisation exhibition. From 9-28 May the gallery will be open by appointment only while we exhibit one of the rarest paintings to have ever come to the market in New Zealand. Painted in 1914 by LJ Steele, Tamarere was an important warrior and chief from Koriniti and Atene on the Whanganui River. Tamarere was one of three Steele paintings purchased by the original owner, who considered the artist to be a better painter than his student, Charles F. Goldie.
