From talk to walk - a poetic journey in eight scenes.
After a packed opening night at Chocolate Theatre Printable Reality is walking their newest poetic production “Lovers Walk” over the bridge to the heart of the Super City and House of Hedone Gallery in High Street.
This Saturday 30th April at 8pm, Siri Embla and Gus Simonovic will be joined by country duo Bernie Griffen and Kirsten Warner for a medly of heart-strings-tugging classic love songs. Bernie Griffen (of alt-country band The Grifters) is the host of bFM’s Border Radio and specialist in American roots music. He’s joined by his long-time life partner Kirsten Warner for some lover’s songs to introduce the show. She is also a founder member of Printable Reality and a performing poet.
A free call 0800 number was the inspiration for “Lover’s Walk”, an innovative performance which fuses spoken word, dance and drama.

“It all started with an ad in paper recommending that you ring and talk to yourself about your relationships: your relationship with your self, with your loved ones, relationship with your work, relationship with your place in this world,” says poet Gus Simonovic.
“I wanted to ring so many times, but never had the courage. I knew so many people who also wanted to ring but never made the call. So, we dropped the numbers, swapped talk for a walk and changed relationship into love – that is how it all began.”
From the working title “0800 Relationship Talk” has grown Lovers Walk - A Poetic Journey in Eight Scenes, a short (yet infinite) odyssey created by dancer Siri Embla and Gus Simonovic, with video material by visual artist Peter Brierley-Millman and music by Jo Blankenburg ( piano ), Gareth Priceless ( guitar ), Dubtext ( all things electronica ) and Kotaro Nishishita (classical guitar ), who collaborate on a number of Printable Reality productions.
Aroha, acquaintance, romance, affection, devotion, liaison - the show is about love in all its forms. “Lovers Walk will reshape shapes and brighten colours in your love-kaleidoscope while telling you a story that you know so well, as it was your own,” says Simonovic.
“We are bringing our best clubs and shiniest diamonds, bring your honest spades and warm hearts and let’s play this game, lets talk this talk, lets walk this walk … together!”
