Breakfast’s Tamati Coffey Shows You How TV Is Going Digital
Tuesday 3rd May
2011
Breakfast’s roving weather reporter will be hitting a different spot each Tuesday from the 10th to the 24th of May looking for the oldest televisions in New Zealand.
Tamati will start his search at Waikanae Beach on Tuesday10th of May. He will be broadcasting the weather from Tutere St, in front of Ma-Mite, The Front Room and Long Beach Cafes from 6.40 in the morning and the live segments will be every half hour – 6.40am, 7.10am, 7.40am, 8.10am and 8.40am.
As a reward to all those who bring along their old TVs to the live broadcast point we will be giving away a set top box and the gear you need to make it digitally compatible.
If you don’t have an old TV come along to represent Waikanae and you may be on TV ONE with Tamati.
From Waikanae, Tamati heads to Waihi for Tuesday17th of May and Hokitika for Tuesday 24th of May.
The reason for this trek round the country is to help the Going Digital team spread the word that you don’t need to buy a new TV when the national signal becomes digitalised. With a bit of advice and a set top box you’ll be good to go!
Going Digital is also promoting a wider search for the oldest TV and inviting NZ’ers to send in photos of theirs – the oldest one in the country will win a fantastic home entertainment system!
