John Rowles tickets selling fast

ROTORUA 13.05.11: Local John Rowles fans may be singing If I Only Had Time if they don’t get in quick to purchase tickets to his final Rotorua concert.

Tickets to the 64-year-old crooner’s Rotorua show, part of his last ever Now is the hour – The Final Bow tour, have rushed out the door and local fans are being encouraged to buy now before they miss out.

Events & Venues Rotorua operations manager Joelene Elliott says Rotorua people generally tend to purchase concert tickets late but it appears many have not wanted to chance missing out on John Rowles’ final show.

“John Rowles is a national icon so we’re not surprised local fans have already snapped up seats to his July concert during the first week of ticket sales.

“We’re over three-quarters sold already so we expect this concert will be sold out by the end of May - which is fantastic. The promoters have said there won’t be a second Rotorua show.

“I encourage anyone wanting to be a part of this historic show to buy their ticket now to avoid being disappointed if they sell out.”

Meanwhile, two local residents will have the opportunity to attend the local concert for free. To be in the draw to win two tickets to the show all you have to do is email your farewell wishes to John Rowles at ticketing@rdc.govt.nz, and include your name, address and phone number.

The farewell tour will take in over 20 New Zealand cities and towns over the remainder of 2011. John Rowles is performing at the Civic Theatre on July 16.

Tickets can be purchased from Convention Centre’s Ticketmaster outlet or online at www.ticketmaster.co.nz .
