MEDIA RELEASE: For Immediate Release
Popular demand brings festival show
back On a Boat, part of the 2011 NZ International Comedy
Festival, has returned for week three of the festival.
Originally performed in week one to full audiences at The
Parade café, (a converted tugboat) the show will be coming
on shore. Eight comedians from the original line up will be
taking the stage at the Fringe Bar for three nights
only. Producer Hilaire Carmody says ‘it’s an honour to
be asked back to perform, however it does make our show
title a little incongruous seeing as we are now in a bar.”
The show features a line-up of new and emergent comedians
who are from Wellington. “This is Wellington’s chance to
see it’s next big comedian before anyone else” says
Hilaire. In fact one of the comedians, Sam Smith, is a Raw
Meat competition finalist and will be represented Wellington
at the Nationals in Auckland this month. On a Boat-Redux
will be playing at The Fringe Bar Thursday 19th May to
Saturday 21st May at 7pm. Performers include: Ants Heath,
Corey Mathews, Hilaire Carmody, James Jobe, Natalie Britten,
Sam Smith, Tito, Wyeth Chalmers. If you didn’t see it when
it was on the boat, catch it in the
bar. WELLINGTON Dates: 19 May – 21 May, 7pm – 8pm
