"Desired" hits the mark at Cannes

Rising Auckland producer-director Amanda Phillips and her producer husband Caleb, of Film Shock Productions, have received a “very pleasing” reception for their first feature film, Desired, at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

The film, which represents Amanda's directorial debut, is being produced by her production company, Film Shock Productions, in association with Morcan Motion Pictures; it premiered at Cannes, Marche Du Film on May 17 in front of a near-capacity audience of enthusiastic film industry representatives from around the world.

Desired, which stars Kiwi actors Dwayne Cameron and Delaney Tabron, has attracted confirmed interest from major sales agents and distributors in the US, Australia and UK as well as New Zealand. Among the visitors thus far to the Desired exhibit at Cannes were representatives of the New Zealand Film Commission who have shown strong interest in the film.

Amanda and Caleb are also encouraged by the interest shown for their next planned feature film project, Silent Fear, a claustrophobic thriller.
