THE HANGOVER PART II downs the biggest opening for an R-Rated comedy in NZ.
The
party has not stopped for Phil, Stu and Alan with THE
HANGOVER PART II enjoying the biggest opening weekend of all
time at the New Zealand Box Office for an ‘R’ Rated
title.
Grossing just over $1.2 million in 72 cinemas from Thursday to Sunday, director Todd Phillips’ follow-up to his 2009 smash hit clearly bet out nearest competition for the title from WHAT BECOMES OF THE BROKEN HEARTED ($912,445)
The new instalment is the only R rated title to enter the Top 50 weekends of all time.
In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding.
After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned.
What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Legendary Pictures, The Hangover Part II was filmed in Los Angeles, and on location in Thailand.
