The second Bethunes at Webb's auction of 2011 will be held on Wednesday 13 July. The sale will be on view for five days, from Friday 8 to Tuesday 12 July The sale includes a diverse selection of rare and affordable New Zealand and international books and related materials.
Highlights include: Kippis, 'The Life of Captain James Cook', 1788; Duperrey, 'Voyage Autour du Monde', 'Histoire du Voyage' and 'Hydrographie' atlases, 1826 and 1827; Meggendorfer, 'Always Jolly! A Movable Toybook', c1891; Warhol, 'Andy Warhol's Children's Book', 1983; and Kipling, 'From Sea to Sea', 1901, copy carried onboard SS Terra Nova. The sale also fetaures good selections of collectable children's books, maps, photography, postcards and fern albums.
