Mad Dash For Free Wedding Bash!!

Mad Dash For Free Wedding Bash!!

While the country has been engrossed in the Rugby World Cup, 20 brides-to-be have been quietly training to win MORE FM's Running of the Brides 2011.

Tomorrow's race starting from under the sails at TSB Bank arena at noon sharp will most certainly get a few turned heads from tourists in town as up to 20 Wellington women, is their Wedding Dresses, Dash along the waterfront to be first over the line to win a free wedding valued at over $30,000

Justin Rae, MORE FM breakfast host says "The running of the Brides will be a gruelling challenge consisting of a garter grab, Bouquet trow, scoffing wedding cake, downing some bubbles, all whilst wearing full bridal attire and running down the isle along the waterfront, ending with the grooms carrying the brides-to-be over the finish line."

"We have had a lot of entries and I'm not surprised, the prize is certainly worth it. An all expenses paid wedding at Ohariu Farm including a 5 star honeymoon to the Gold Coast!"

It seems to be the perfect motivation for Rachel Eves from Khandallah who with her partner of 3 years Felix says "We have been putting off the wedding and even the engagement because we can't afford it at the moment, but Felix has said if I win tomorrow he will propose to me right then and there."

The winning bride will have just two weeks to invite the guests to the wedding which will take place on Friday the 7th of October, one day before the quarter final in the Rugby World Cup.

We would love to invite you to the race tomorrow (Thursday 22 September) at 12 Noon starting from Queens Wharf (outside TSB Bank Arena).

20 potential brides, dressed in full wedding attire racing to win a wedding package worth over $30,000. It promises to be quite a spectacle!
