The best Charity fishing tournament in New Zealand
PRESS RELEASE:
The best Charity fishing tournament in New Zealand is ready to start again!!
Hynds Pipe Systems has come on board as naming sponsor this year, and along with the organisers are positive that this years event is going to be better than last years. This years tournament will again be hosted on private property at Omaha Bay on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th Novemeber. Contestants are urged to take advantage of the discounted ticket price by purchasing an Earlybird ticket before Septemebr 30th.Once again they will will be raising money for The Rugby Foundation, and the local Mahurangi Rugby Club "The Rugby Foundation does an absolutely awesome job in looking after seriously injured ex rugby players with things such as wheel chair ramps, and trying to make their day to day lives easier" says organiser Sam Ryburn. " All the things we take for granted, is a struggle for them and their families, these guys have literally put their body on the line for the sport they love, so anything we can do to make their lives easier, has to be a bonus."
The inaugural Short Line Out Fishing Tournament held last year attracted contestants from all over the North Island, plus a few that travelled over from Aussie for the occasion.
Several years ago, the Furuno Fishing Tournament, a major attraction to boaties and fishermen far and wide, ended due to the sale of land on Kawau Island. Several participants, residents and business people within the community felt that without the Furuno fishing tournament, a huge void was left, inspiring the organising committee of The HYNDS Short Line Out to do something about it.
While the event at Omaha will be much smaller in size than the “blokefest” that used to be the Furuno, it is offering a huge amount of prizes With over $20,000 in prizes expected, including $1000 cash for the heaviest snapper, and overseas travel up for grabs for the anticipated 300 entrants, its sure to attract fisho’s from near and far. Tickets for the HYNDS Short Line Out 2011 Charity Fishing Tournament are extremely limited in numbers and they will sell out. With two days of fishing between Bream Head and Cape Colville, including the Hen and Chicks, the Mokohinau Islands and the inside of Great Barrier, The HYNDS Short Line Out 2011 Charity Fishing Tournament promises a lot of fisho’s plenty of space to catch the big one! Species eligible to be caught include Snapper, Kingfish, Kahawai and Gurnard and a huge prize pool covers all these species.
The organiser's goal is
for everybody to have a good memorable experience from the
tournament, this includes the volunteers, the fisho’s and
of course the local people of Omaha and the Rodney District,
whilst also creating an ongoing event for fisho’s the
country over.
As it is a charity tournament, we are
still looking for more sponsors and supporters as well as
volunteers to help out.
Anybody looking to purchase
tickets can go to the Fishing Tournaments link on the
Mahurangi Rugby Club website, www.mahurangirugbyclub.co.nz.
