La De Da New Years Eve Festival Announces
Final Artist Line-Up
/
La De Da is proud to release the second and final line-up announcement for 2011/12’s premier New Years Eve Festival.
Starting on 30 December with Lullaby Lane, the
official campground of La De Da, the festival stretches over
48 hours providing ticket holders with the ultimate New
Years Eve soundtrack. The 2011/12 artist line-up represents
the best of the musical crop from both here and
overseas.
Returning from his sold out New Zealand
shows earlier this year the Wu Tang Clan’s GZA/The
Genius is set to headline Lullaby Lane on December 30.
Helping him set the tone is one of the finest collections of
Hip Hop artists to grace our shores in over a decade: Hip
Hop legend Pharoahe Monch, the mighty vocal machine
that is Rahzel (formerly of The Roots) as well as the
world renowned skills of Femme Fatale, Jean Grae.
Dubstep heavyweights Optimus Gryme and Mt
Eden Dubstep are set to fire up the all new Electronic
Stage, along with a massive mix of international DJ names,
including Chasing Shadows (HENCH Records, UK),
Roksonix (Circus Records, UK), Zomboy (Never
Say Die Records, UK), KOAN Sound (Hospital
Records, UK), and B-Complex (Hospital Records,
Slovakia),
This year sees the welcome return of
electronic pop maestro’s Kids of 88, Zowie, Kidz
in Space and Computers Want Me Dead. While
rounding out the night is the finest in local Dubstep, Drum
& Bass and Glitch Hop with Truth, Trei and
Opiuo keeping things going until the early
hours.
This incredible line up joins the already
announced bill for La De Da on 31 December of Six 60, Fat
Freddy’s Drop, Kora, State of Mind Live, Dub FX, Donavon
Frankenreiter, Katchafire, The Upbeats, Sola Rosa, Skism,
Blue King Brown, Iva Lamkum, Concord Dawn, and Dodge and
Fuski.
Festival Co-Promoter Josh Mossman
says “We have been working on this lineup for over a year
now, and to have international acts of this scale at La De
Da in only our second year is pretty exciting both for the
La De Da team, and the ticket holders that are going to get
to see it live, we have something pretty special in store
for them this year. Our new site is going to blow people’s
minds, and coupled with the stage, sound and lighting setup
we have planned; it’s going to be a New Year’s Eve to
remember!’
La De Da boasts larger scale
production this year with more space, more stages and more
acts, so has moved to the fresh new location of Dry River
Road in Martinborough to accommodate for the higher quality
festival.
Accommodation will again be available at the
festival’s onsite campground, Lullaby
Lane.
Tickets are available from www.1-night.co.nz/LaDeDa. With a sell-out crowd in 2010 and early bird tickets for this year selling out in just 10 minutes, festival goers should get in quick to avoid disappointment. VIP options are also available.
