The Legends Project: 5-16 October

Celebrating love, strength and courage this community developed art project opens tonight, 5 October, at 6.30 pm! All welcome.

191 Jackson Street (under the clock tower in the formerly empty shop) Petone

"As a group of local creative people we have developed this show based around the theme of "Legends" to coincide with the Rugby World Cup.

This installation is what has come out of our group workshops over the past few weeks. As a team we explored ideas and forms and collectively decided on what [is on show at the exhibition]

Each of our own personal heroes or heroines is represented and we have used the space to celebrate tem. We encourage you to also bring your hero or heroine into this space too by putting their names up on our heroes and heroines wall using one of the Post-it notes.

The artists involved in this project are; Sharmila Pillay, Yasanthi Subasinghe, Rowel Madrisa, Helen Williamson, Jojo Garcia Jowett, Mecca Garcia Bowman, Maxine Edwards, Catherine Green, Steve Burroughs, and Graham Wolf.

I am very proud of what our group has achieved and I hope you will enjoy our exhibition"

Please check www.hvca.org.nz for weekly opening times.
