Statement from Mr Domingo: Passing of Christopher Doig
Maestro Domingo was very saddened to hear of the passing
of Mr Christopher Doig.
“The time we spent together last week was indeed very special. Coming to Christchurch to perform and to see Chris again meant a great deal to me. The welcome we received and the love shown to Mr Doig for what he has achieved for many communities over the years was wonderful to witness We saw first hand how Chris was able to bring everyone together for a night when, as I said on the night, for a moment things were as they were meant to be. Our thoughts are with Suzanne, his children and his wide circle of friends both in New Zealand and around the world. Kia kaha.”
