International Stars to Perform In the Outdoor Comedy Store!

International Stars to Perform In the Outdoor Comedy Store!

Internationally acclaimed comedians join Kiwi favourites in the return of New Zealand’s most unique comedy event, The Outdoor Comedy Store. Hugely successful Irish comic, Ed Byrne, will star in a 3-show tour alongside USA country superstar Wilson Dixon, the ridiculously talented Kiwi Ben Hurley, and supreme host of the event, Simon McKinney.

The Outdoor Comedy Store is a unique comedy event that is everything Kiwi’s love about summer - relaxing back with friends and family on a summer’s evening, with a refreshing drink in hand and the laughs rolling in. With a critically acclaimed comic line-up and a variety of stunning outdoor venues, the shows are set to be the ultimate night of entertainment, fun and hilarity.

The star-studded line-up will tour in January to beachside holiday hotspots Whangamata on the 10th, Tauranga on the 12th, and Hawkes Bay on the 14th January. Food and refreshments will be available, and audiences can either bring foldable chairs or a blanket to sit on. Some fantastic merchandise and memorabilia will also be available to purchase.

Ed Byrne has just completed a massive month-long, sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival and is currently on the second leg of a huge 118-date tour throughout the UK to packed crowds and rave reviews. Ed last performed in New Zealand in 2009, touring his hugely successful show “Different Class”. He is also a regular on top UK television programs Mock the Week, Live At The Apollo and Have I Got News For You. Incredibly popular with New Zealand audiences, this is a special chance to see an international comic at the top of his game in an environment like you’ve never seen him before.

Wilson Dixon is a New Zealand favourite, easily the country’s most-loved American who loves New Zealand just as much. He is excited to yet again return to our shores to play to a Kiwi summer crowd and make us laugh with his guitar, boots and hat to match. Another sold-out run at this year’s Comedy Festival, Wilson is one comedy cowboy that is just getting better and better.

Ben Hurley needs no introduction. One of New Zealand’s foremost comedians, his continuous run of sellout shows throughout the country stand testament to his sheer comedic brilliance. He is a regular panelist on TV show 7 Days, where he is also a head writer, and has won the Billy T and Fred Awards.

Simon McKinney will host the event, and has become a household name through his many impersonations and impressions. Simon has appeared on numerous TV shows and Comedy Gala’s, as well as playing gigs right throughout the country.

Tickets are available from Ticket Master for Whangamata and Tauranga, and from www.blackbarn.com for the Hawkes Bay show. Tickets are priced $55 - $65. Booking fees apply. Gates open 6.30pm, show starts 8pm. While the event is not BYO alcohol, a licensed bar will be available and patrons are more than welcome to bring their own picnic and chairs. Check for entry conditions per event due to different liquor licence regulations. For more information visit www.outdoorcomedystore.co.nz
