Ukrainian Association of New Zealand marks 20 years of Ukrainian Independence and 60 years of Ukrainian immigration to New Zealand
Community of 1300 celebrates by displaying traditional dance, music and arts to NZ audience
Auckland, November 2, 2011: Ukrainian Association of New Zealand (www.nzukrainians.org) is holding a Cultural Concert Extravaganza on Saturday, 5th of November, 4pm at the Hawkins Theatre, Papakura, Auckland. The concert is the biggest cultural event conducted by Ukrainian community in New Zealand to the date. UANZ is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and over 60 years of Ukrainian settlement in New Zealand after the end of the World War II.
This celebrations feature some of the top Ukrainian musicians and dancers from New Zealand and Australia including Ukrainian Youth Association Dance Group Zahrava from Sydney, Valeriy Maksymov -a member of the viola section of the Christchurch Symphony, Vocal ensemble MineAccord, Hamilton, conductor Clive Ladmin, Auckland Ukrainian Community Choir directed by Oleg Kuznetsov and many more exciting acts.
