Marty Schmidt summits Aoraki/Mt Cook with Mike Fyfe

Alpinist and Macpac gear tester Marty Schmidt summits Aoraki/Mt Cook with Mike Fyfe to repeat history

Macpac’s alpine gear tester, Marty Schmidt, summits Aoraki/ Mt Cook with Mike Fyfe to repeat history. Mike is the great-great grandson of Tom Fyfe, who was among the trio who climbed the first ascent of Mt Cook (Aoraki). They chose a shortened version of the original climb by electing to fly to Plateau Hut. They then climbed the same Linda Glacier route as that climbed by George Graham, Jack Clarke, & Tom Fyfe back in 1894.
