Enticing treats opens in Hastings

You can now get your favourite cakes, desserts and macaroons 6 days a week with Entice Gourmet Kitchen opening its first store in Karamu Road, Hastings.

Entice Gourmet Cakes started off at the Hastings Farmers’ Market in 2005 with a small stand and approximately 12 product lines. It has now increased products to over 24 and due to customer feedback and demand has opened a store in Hastings opening Tuesday through Saturday.

Jason and Suzi Eaglestone are living their dream, both trained patisserie Chefs, Jason and Suzi moved to the Hawke’s Bay in 2005 from Auckland to start a family and to try their hand at making individual desserts. “We saw a niche market for producing quality individual desserts and cakes, people wanted something they could pull off as their own at a dinner party!” says Jason.

Entice have recently added bread to their offerings at the Farmers’ Market which has been going well, with the Turkish bread selling out by mid morning. The most recent product to be added is the macaroon. A tasty wee morsel available in different colours and packaged in a purpose made box to impress those discerning friends, coffee groups and client business morning teas.

Jason and Suzi have high aspirations for their business with plans in the making for ready to eat salads, sauces, jams and other specialised goods. “Now we have a shop front we are able to take our business to the next level, the Farmers’ Market has been a great starting point for us and we will continue to be there every Sunday, it is important we service our loyal clients each week, after all that is where it all began!” Eaglestone says.

Entice Gourmet Kitchen is open at 601 Karamu Road, Hastings (next to the Video Ezy store) Tuesday to Saturday and then at the Hastings Farmers’ Market every Sunday.
