Leading NZ Team Seagate to Race at Orion Health Godzone

Press Release from 100% PURE Racing
24.11.2011 - for immediate release

Leading New Zealand Team Seagate to Race at Orion Health Godzone Adventure

Following the announcement at the Adventure Racing World Championships recently held in Tasmania, Team Seagate has confirmed their entry into the inaugural Orion Health GODZone Adventure, to be held over Easter, 2012 in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Team Seagate captain and double world champion, Nathan Fa’avae, says he’s extremely pleased that New Zealand has an expedition race again on its own shores.

“We’ve led the world in Adventure Racing and set the standard across the board but I feel we are at risk of losing our place on the mantle if we don’t create opportunities for the emerging athletes to have access to. The Orion Health GODZone Adventure fills that void and I think it’s a major step in retaining our high international standing in the sport”

For Fa’avae, a five time winner of the Southern Traverse, racing at home means something special.

” I have raced extensively around the world, on six continents. For all the travels and adventures I have had, New Zealand is my favourite place to race. The best and most memorable events I have done have been right here, at home. Our team is excited to be taking part because we know it’ll be a professionally managed event, a fantastic course and a race not to be missed. We can’t wait!”

Orion Health GODZone Adventure co directors, Adam Fairmaid and Warren Bates, are delighted with Team Seagate’s entry and expect them to be firm favourites out on the course next year.

Team registrations for early discounts close on the 1st December, 2011 and entries can be made at www.godzoneadventure.com
