Line Up For Variety Hour At Bloom Family Festival

VARIETY – THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE LINE UP FOR THE VARIETY HOUR AT BLOOM FAMILY FESTIVAL

Variety – The Children’s Charity is delighted to announce the talented Kiwi line-up for their Variety Hour at the BLOOM FAMILY FESTIVAL in Matakana Country Park, 20-22 January 2012! Variety Ambassador Elizabeth Marvelly, Massad, Abby Lee, Variety Voices and Katie Scott and the Miss T’s are all confirmed to perform at “The Variety Hour at 5pm” on the Main stage on Saturday 21st January, 2012. The show will be MC’d by long standing Variety Ambassador Mark Wright.

Variety Ambassador Elizabeth Marvelly will perform with the Variety Voices performance group. The Kiwi songstress has enjoyed a remarkable career to date, having first taken the stage at 16 with Sir Howard Morrison. Since then, Elizabeth has performed in front of millions worldwide, including performances at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Variety Voices is a group scholarship opportunity for talented young people to share the joy of rehearsing and performing together at events, whether disabled or able-bodied, facing challenges or not. This is no ordinary choir – think Glee!, think Idol, think X-Factor!

Rising star Massad will perform his hit single “Tear My Heart Out”, which peaked at #2 on the Independent New Zealand singles chart. At 18, Massad is already an accomplished performer whose unique and fresh sound saw him chosen to perform to over 350,000 at the Auckland and Christchurch Christmas In The Park events in 2011. Soulful and emerging talent Abby Lee started her song writing career at the tender age of 12, and since pursuing her dream has found herself performing & writing for fellow musicians including Smashproof’s Deach, Kayo & Brooke (from Illegal Banditz). Abby has been recording and developing her sound with Producers Juse, Josh Fountain (Kidz In Space) and artist Vince Harder (who produced her first single ‘Steal Time’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3tXy8Pc01E). Abby has just released her new single ‘Set You Free’.

Local stars in the making Katie Scott & The Miss T’s round out the talented line up. Variety friend Bronwyn Turei, Sister Kayla Turei and Katie Scott will perform their unique stripped-back cabaret-pop which they are fast becoming renown for. BLOOM FAMILY FESTIVAL

The summer festival of the season is set amongst 50-acres in Matakana Country Park only 45 mins from Auckland & 2 kms north of Matakana Village where you’ll find an abundance of exciting things to do whether you come for one, two or all three days! (Camping is optional).

Ladi6, Greg Johnson, Sola Rosa, The Thomas Oliver Band, Dave McArtney, The Babysitters Circus & Variety's amazing line up are amongst the 30+ top Kiwi artists and bands performing on the Main and 2nd stages.

There are too many adventures to be had at BLOOM to list here - this is a taster: THE DISNEY VILLAGE with mini-CARS and a Fairy Garden, THE SPORTS VILLAGE with a ton of activities including workshops with Auckland Blues, NZ Breakers; Cheapskates Skate Park, FUNKY FAIRGROUND with a huuuuge 13 meter Water Slide to keep you cool, Mini Jeep rides, Water Balls, Inflatabale Obstacle course and more MAGIC MEADOW WITH Story-Tellers Corner presenting 2 of NZ’s best children’s writers & illustrators who will also present workshops; Comedy with Campground Chaos, Fuse Circus of Wellington, Royal NZ Ballet with their Explorer workshop, A Horse Arena, Jousting, Woodland Workout.
