Big news for a book that’s a favourite with the little ones
Big news for a book that’s a favourite with the little ones
The NZ Listener, New Zealand’s leading current affairs magazine has placed babblebooks on their annual 50 Best Children’s Books of the Year for 2011.
Babblebooks creator, Emma Bolser says, “I am absolutely delighted. To have come this far in such a short time is amazing. We are the only independent publisher on the list and to be ranked next to international best sellers is gob smacking! I am also thrilled for Unicef NZ: we donate $1 from every sale directly to them so a win for us, is a win for them too”.
The idea for babblebooks came from groundbreaking research which had proven that hearing lots and lots of words is crucial to a child’s early development, and that children who hear the most words by the age of 4 have the highest IQs.
Emma used this knowledge to develop the babblebooks range which uses unusual words and beautiful images to help broaden the amount of language small children can hear.
And now the hard work and persistence in getting the idea from scribbles on a pad to print has been rewarded with a fantastic accolade: inclusion on The NZ Listener’s list of the 50 Best Children’s Books of the Year for 2011.
