Teen art competition draws a “Who’s Who” of famous faces
Teen art competition draws a “Who’s Who” of famous faces
1 February 2012
New Zealand Post’s challenge to secondary students - to submit their best original artworks for a competition and gallery show – has already produced a galaxy of stars.
Hundreds of Kiwi teens have submitted pieces to the ‘Creative Break’ competition, and dozens of those entries feature famous faces.
The best artworks will feature in an art show at the 2012 New Zealand International Arts Festival.
New Zealand Post’s head of sponsorship, Nicola Airey, says some of the portrait entries are instantly recognisable, while others take a bit more detective work.
“Identifying who the portraits are can be quite challenging,” Nicola Airey said. “If someone in the media was ingenious, they could turn it into an enjoyable quiz for their readers or visitors to their website – especially given that the images are available copyright free from our public Facebook page.
Entries for the Creative Break competition close at 5pm on Friday 17 February 2012, and further information is on the competition’s Facebook page – simply go to Facebook and search for: Creative Break.
