Showers of Gold for Saint Clair Family
Estate
Consistent wine show
success flows into 2012 for Saint Clair Family Estate across
a range of varietals. New Zealand’s 2012 Royal Easter Show
wine awards has announced the family-owned Marlborough
winery has achieved highly acclaimed gold medal status for
five different wines. The shower of gold further cements its
reputation as a leading New Zealand wine producer.
The
following Saint Clair wines were awarded gold
medals:
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 1 Foundation Sauvignon
Blanc 2011
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 11 Cell Block
Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Saint Clair Marlborough Premium
Grüner Veltliner 2011
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 15
Strip Block Pinot Noir 2010
Saint Clair Pioneer Block 5
Bull Block Pinot Gris 2011
1261 entries made it into the oldest and longest-running wine competition in New Zealand, and 8.8% of these entries achieved gold medal standard. Trophy winners will be announced at the awards dinner at the ASB showgrounds on 17th March.
“I am thrilled to see the start of 2012 bring us ongoing recognition of quality,” says Neal Ibbotson, Managing Director of Saint Clair Family Estate.
“We are particularly excited with another award for the Grüner Veltliner, as 2011 was the first year we produced this variety. We strongly believe this acknowledgement across a range of varietals is due in part to our open-minded approach to quality viticulture and winemaking”.
2012 looks like it is shaping up to be another successful year for Saint Clair Family Estate, which continues to produce wines of world-class excellence.
