M1Motorsport looks ahead to the Finale at Taupo

It was a challenging weekend for M1Motorsport at Round 4 of the New Zealand Superbike Championship, in second place on series points.

Sloan was able to set a fast enough lap-time to secure third place pole position at qualifying despite crashing, on Saturday afternoon.

With the BMW repaired overnight; it was a snapped throttle cable at the onset of the preliminary Race 1 on Sunday that changed the game, sparking a DNF for M1Motorsport.

It was all hands on deck as the cable was removed and replaced, in time for a light sprinkling of rain but just enough to declare the race, wet.

Superbike riders were given 20 minutes to decide on tyre choice, in Race two.

As the track dried, Sloan went on to dominate for most of the second race, going head to head with Andrew Stroud – current and 9x NZSBK Champion - who was giving no quarter in the 20 lap Tourist Trophy race.

In a momentous and fierce paced battle, the two riders were out on their own vying for the coveted TT title and clawing back valuable series points.

In the final act - Andrew Stroud took first place.

Looking towards the final showdown where Sloan holds the current lap record, Sloan comments, “I’m looking forward to being able to put this weekend behind us as we go into the final round at Taupo."

“It’s pretty exciting, looking at the latest results in – there’s not much in it now, New Zealand’s number one plate is still very much up for grabs.”

"Thanks to our Sponsors and Supporters, see you at Taupo!"

Top Three Series Points standings, heading into the final round this weekend.

Robbie Bugden: 132.5
Andrew Stroud: 122
Sloan Frost: 97.5
