Parade and Commemorative Service to Mark RNZAF 75th Anniversary
Ceremonial flags and band music will be the order of the day next Tuesday when the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) parades through the streets of Wellington to celebrate the RNZAF’s 75th Anniversary, which falls on Sunday 1 April 2012.
The RNZAF Royal Guard of Honour will depart Civic Square at 11.00am, parade through Lambton Quay and arrive on Parliament’s forecourt at 11.30am. Current and historic aircraft will perform a flypast at 11.45am (weather permitting).
Following the parade, a Commemorative Service will be held at Wellington’s Cathedral of St Paul at 1.00pm.
The Governor-General of New Zealand, Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae, will review the parade, and attend the Commemorative Service, along with government officials and other dignitaries.
The public and media are invited to attend the parade and Commemorative Service.
