The Māori Troilus and Cressida Launches Appeal to Go Global

Following the success of sold out Performances in Auckland and Wellington, The Māori Troilus and Cressida is launching an appeal to raise funds to take this spectacular and dynamic adaptation of Shakespeare’s work in Te Reo all the way to The Globe Theatre in London. The show will be performed at the Globe to Globe Festival on Shakespeare’s birthday (April 23rd) as part of the city’s Cultural Olympiad.
The stellar cast, led by Rāwiri Paratene will give a special fundraising performance in Auckland’s Town Hall on April 15, followed by a special fundraising function at Q Theatre featuring Maisey Rika, Ria Hall, Tama Waipara and Ngatapa Black.
Co-Directed by Rachel House and Jamus Webster, the play features the live music of James Webster. Cast members are Waihoroi Shortland, Scotty Morrison, Kimo Houltham, Awhina Rose Henare-Ashby, Juanita Hepi, Waimihi Hōtere, Matu Ngaropo, Maaka Pōhatu, Roimata Fox, William Davis, Calvin Tuteao, Xavier Horan, James Tito, Whatanui Flavell & Rangi Rangitukunoa.
