Upcoming National Tour, Presented By Operatunity

Media Release –
Daytime Concert Series 2012
Upcoming National Tour, Presented By Operatunity.

Viva Italia! May/June July 2012 With Special Guest Artist Benjamin Fifita Makisi.

The Daytime Concert Series presents its latest offering in its 2012 season, this month with its new show, Viva Italia. The show features famous tenor Benjamin Fifita Makisi, well known for his numerous appearances in opera and on the concert stage and for special appearances including soloist at Sir Edmund Hillary's funeral, and concerts with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and with Sir Howard Morrison.

Ben's charismatic personality, his ability to connect with his audience and his incredible tenor voice has dubbed him affectionately the Polynesian Pavarotti. He will be joined on stage by soprano Susan Boland, accompanist extraordinaire Alex Wiltshire, mezzo Elisha Fai- Hulton, and tenor Cameron Barclay in a celebration of music from Italy. Famous songs and arias have been specially chosen to provide the audience with a chance to escape the winter blues and journey to Italy with its alluring colours, warmth, and culture. Songs like O sole mio, o my beloved father, Come back to Sorrento, Three coins in a fountain, and famous arias and ensembles from Madame Butterfly, Rigoletto, Barber of Seville, and Marriage of Figaro are presented in a 90 minute concert, commencing at 11 am, which is followed by lunch with the artists.
