Gunn Goes
National
Classic Hits announced today that Christchurch breakfast radio host and national personality Jason Gunn and co-host Dave Fitzgerald will move from their local weekday breakfast slot, to broadcast nationwide on the Classic Hits Drive show.
The move, effective Monday 23 July will see the talented duo entertain listeners between 4-7pm Monday to Fridays with their unique mix of comedy, take on the days events and self deprecating humour that has made them a popular breakfast choice for the past two years.
Classic Hits Network content director Jason Winstanley said the changes reflect the results of research carried out to determine what listeners want from their week-day Drive show.
Says Winstanley, “The audience trend is moving towards personality drive shows, listeners aren’t content with listening to just music, they want more content and more entertainment to unwind after a long day.
“It was a no brainer to move Gunn and Fitzgerald into this slot. Gunn’s long record in television and radio speaks for itself. He has been entertaining Kiwis for 25 years and co-host Dave Fitzgerald is accomplished broadcaster who has worked in several markets around the country.”
Gunn is excited with the move and the opportunity to talk to the whole of New Zealand:
“We have so much fun with what we do,
we’re really excited to have the opportunity to move to
the national afternoon drive show while still broadcasting
from Christchurch.
"We're bloody great mates who love rarking each other up are more than a little competitive - sure he beats me at golf but I look better in a dress!"
Current drive host Jason Tikao (JT) moves to 12-4pm and Jase & Dave can be heard on Classic Hits Drive Show from Monday 23 July, 4-7pm.
