Win Your School a State-of-the-Art Kitchen

July 26, 2012

Win Your School a State-of-the-Art Kitchen with
Brett Mcgregor’s Let’s Cook Programme

Celebrity chef Brett McGregor and Parmco Appliances have joined forces to get kids cooking in the kitchen – and be in to win their school one of eight Parmco kitchen packages with a total value of over $150,000.

Registrations open from August 6th – 31st. Schools which signup for the three-week programme at www.letscookwithparmco.co.nz will receive recipes and tips created just for Let’s Cook by Brett. Each week new recipes will be sent to participating schools, with Brett giving a video demonstration of how to cook the dishes via the Let’s Cook website.

All schools that enter Let’s Cook with Parmco will be eligible to win a classroom full of state-of-the-art kitchen appliances – including free-standing cookers, canopies, fridges, microwaves and dishwashers, by having their friends and family vote for their school. Plus, students can win spot prizes for completing Brett’s weekly cooking challenges.

Brett, who was a teacher before winning NZ’s first Masterchef, says with Let’s Cook has provided an amazing opportunity to get children enthusiastic about cooking.

“I’m so excited about this programme. It’s not about which child cooks the best dish, it’s about encouraging kids, and the whole family, to get in the kitchen and give cooking a try. That is something I am extremely passionate about,” he says. “The recipes I’ve created for this programme are designed to show kids how creative they can be in the kitchen, and just how easy it is to cook fantastic dishes from fresh ingredients.”

General Manager of Parmco Trevor Preston says Parmco is thrilled to be able to offer Kiwi kids and their families a chance have fun and be inspired in the kitchen.

“Parmco is a Kiwi kitchen appliance company that cares about Kiwi families, and of course we are very passionate about cooking,” Trevor says. “We can’t think of anyone more suitable to help ignite a passion for cooking among kids than Brett, and we are very pleased to be working with him to make Let’s Cook happen,” he says.

“We also have some amazing kitchen prizes up for grabs to help schools continue to instill that passion for cooking in their students.”

Thanks to Gilpin Travel, three lucky schools across the country will also receive a surprise visit from Brett during Let’s Cook, during which he will teach students how to cook some of his dishes in person.

Managing director of Gilpin Travel, Keith Sumner, says Gilpin is very happy to be on board with Let’s Cook, enabling Brett to have one on one interaction with kids in the kitchen.

“At Gilpin Travel, we believe encouraging creativity and a passion for hands on activities such as cooking is part of really living life, which is what we’re all about as a travel company,” Keith says. “And as a Kiwi company with strong family values, we’re always motivated to work with other Kiwi companies like Parmco, to help our kids.”

Other brands lending their support to the Let’s Cook campaign are Hilton, and Simon Gault’s new restaurant Fish. For all those people who get voting for your school, they’re providing two fantastic prizes for them, including two nights at the Hilton Auckland, dinner at Fish restaurant, plus a masterclass with the executive chef. Everyone who votes is in with a chance to win!

Register your school today from August 6th – 31st at www.letscookwithparmco.co.nz and give your students cooking lessons they’ll never forget – plus be in with a chance to cook in a brand new world-class kitchen for your school.
