HUTT CITY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE
1 AUGUST 2012
Lions at Hutt Rec
The Wellington Lions will play a pre-season match against the Manawatu Turbos at the Hutt Recreation Ground, Wednesday 8 August at 2pm.
Hutt City Council is working closely with the Wellington Rugby Football Union to give Hutt residents the chance to see their heroes in action.
“We’re looking at opportunities for the Lions to become role models and local heroes within our community”, says Matt Reid.
Entry to the match is a gold coin donation except to schoolchildren who enter for free. Proceeds will go to the New Zealand Rugby Foundation.
This will be the beginning of number of matches that will be hosted at Hutt Rec, particularly the Jubilee Cup, which is set for Sunday 12 August.
