The Public Votes for Who Will Be New Zealand's Next Young Fashion Designer

Now is the time for New Zealand fashionistas to have their say and cast their Facebook vote for which talented young designer they think deserves the honourable title of Peoples Choice Award Winner - Newmarket Young Fashion Designer 2012.

Launched in 2009, the Newmarket Young Designer of the Year Award showcases the innovative ideas and fresh perspectives from upcoming kiwi designers, aged between 16 to 19 years. The competition provides young New Zealanders with a gateway into the dynamic world of the fashion industry.

In 2012 an overwhelming number of entries were submitted, and 18 finalists have since been judged by a leading panel of Newmarket designers and industry-experts. The judges’ winner will be announced at a gala showcase evening on Friday October 12th at Auckland Grammar’s Centennial Theatre.

But now the public will get an exclusive opportunity to have their say in which young designer deserves to take out the Peoples Choice title. By casting a vote, you also put yourself into the running to be whisked away to the 2013 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival! This fantastic experience includes two nights luxury accommodation at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, as well as tickets to the wonderful shows that make up the 2013 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Only one vote per person, so make sure it counts!

Public voting opens today - Monday September 10th with the finalist garments on display in Newmarket at 254 Broadway (previously SAKS). Garments will also be on display during an exclusive showcase weekend at The Cloud, at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour on the weekend of Saturday September 22nd and Sunday September 23rd at which time the People Choice voting closes.

The winner of the trip for two to the 2013 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival will be announced on Wednesday the 17th of October.
