Waikato Breast Cancer Trust Charity Event

18 September 2012

Waikato Breast Cancer Trust Charity Event

Agenda restaurant is joining forces with Waikato superstars this October in the name of charity and Breast Cancer Awareness month.

A six course degustation dinner including wine matches will be held Wednesday October 3rd with all profits from ticket sales and a charity auction going to the Waikato Breast Cancer Trust.

Guest speakers include 2012’s Silver Ferns Captain Casey Williams and soon to be first-time mother and Silver Fern Joline Henry who will talk about their careers as professional athletes and their passion for women’s health.

Guy Hernandez, Business Development Executive of Lion Nathan and wine connoisseur will be introducing wine matches to each course while also speaking about his experience in both the wine and hospitality industries worldwide.

Agenda Head Chef Josh Kanara-Bailey has designed the degustation menu to showcase local and seasonal ingredients to produce a fresh, balanced and inspired dining experience.

Up for grabs at the charity auction are a fully signed and framed Waikato Chiefs jersey from the first-time Investec Super Rugby champions and a signed Silver Ferns netball from this year’s team.

Close links to family members affected by breast cancer is what prompted Local Waikato woman and event instigator Claire Robinson together with sibling restaurant owners Logan Hughes and Heidi Jordan to create the event.

“The reason I became involved in helping with the charity dinner was because I wanted to be able to help others,” says Claire.
