Celebrates 21 Years of Chocolate Indulgence

20 September, 2012 – Iconic artisan chocolate brand Devonport Chocolates is celebrating 21 years since it was established in 1991. The company, which has grown to be one of New Zealand’s most loved boutique chocolate brands, has a number of exciting activities planned during October to mark this special milestone.

“It’s not every year that we turn 21,” says Stephanie Everitt, Devonport Chocolates Company Director. “And what better way to celebrate a birthday than with creamy, delicious chocolate!”

Chocolates lovers can treat themselves to limited edition celebration boxes of 21 assorted chocolates, available in store from 1st October. Twenty-one lucky purchasers will find a golden ticket hidden in the box, entitling them to a gourmet celebration box of delicious Devonport chocolates. Plus each day the 21st customer in each store will win a spot prize.

Facebook followers can take part in an online competition, answering a question a day about chocolate for 21 days to be in the daily draw for a celebration box. Customers that answer all 21 questions will go in the draw to win a three-hour chocolate making experience in Auckland for them and a friend, where they will learn to make creamy truffles and delectable chocolates and take home all the tasty treats they make.

Devonport Chocolates was established in 1991 and began making its truffle logs, one of the first New Zealand made chocolate product for the gift market. From a chocolate kitchen on the North Shore, the company has grown to three retail stores across Auckland. It employs four highly-skilled chocolatiers and a team of staff to make, package and sell a wide range of hand-crafted chocolates including unique New Zealand flavours such as horopito, kawakawa, feijoa and bush honey.
