Baby Buffalo To Make Guest Appearance At The Waikato Home & Garden Show
The lush Whangaripo Valley North of
Auckland is where a herd of happy water buffalo dwell but on
Thursday October 4th the babies of the family will be
attending the Waikato Home & Garden Show.
Whangaripo Buffalo Cheese Company owners Annie Wills and Phil Armstrong and Pam and Chris Wills are bringing the youngsters with them while they showcase their organic cheeses, yoghurt and meat range over the four day event.
The family is fresh from shooting a television documentary about their business with international celebrity chef now Sky City 'The Grill' owner Sean Connelly.
Connelly spent several days with the family on their Dairy Flat Buffalo farm which boasts 28 milking cows and 70 young and beefing animals. He then prepared a stunning wine matched meal for them and a group of local celebs at his well known Sky City restaurant.
Annie says while the experience was great
and they were proud to have their product showcased, she and
Phil will not be seeking long term careers in TV, preferring
to focus on their top shelf Buffalo products – wonderful
steaks and iron high patties, air dried buffalo fillet and
air dried sausages plus St Malo, Marin Blue, Grado and
Fresca, haloumi cheeses and yoghurt - a must see (and taste)
at this year's Show.
Show organiser Graham Hannah said by a happy coincidence the Buffalo Barbeque Company will also be at this year's event and will be help ensure plenty of buffalo patties are cooked to perfection for visitors in the Gourmet Food Court and the where the full range of Kiwi's favourite barbeques and seating will be on show.
